<p> CONVICTED. KEVIN ELDERS, 28, son of U.S. Surgeon General Joycelyn
Elders; on charges of selling cocaine; in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Elders was found guilty of selling an eighth of an ounce to
an undercover cop for $275. During his nonjury trial, Elders
claimed an acquaintance set up the deal, threatening to expose
his drug habit and publicly embarrass his high-profile mother.
But Judge John Plegge ruled that Elders had not proved entrapment.
Sentencing is set for Aug. 29, when the prosecutor will ask
for a 10-year prison term. Joycelyn Elders created a stir last
December when she backed the study of drug legalization.
